TEACHING + WORKSHOPS
I teach with the belief that every person has the capacity for creativity, and that anyone can learn the skills to express their ideas.
A Dedication to helping people embrace their creativity
As an experienced instructor in art, design and fashion, I’ve worked with students of all different ages, backgrounds and life experiences to help them embrace and enjoy their creativity. My teaching philosophy is that everyone is innately creative, and capable of learning the skills to become artists, designers and creative thinkers.
I regularly teach fashion illustration at Made Institute in Philadelphia, and I’m also an adjunct faculty member with the Fashion Department at Drexel University. With my work as a picture book illustrator, I also visit elementary schools and community programs to speak with students about art and storytelling.
FOR GROWN-UPS: FASHION, ART + DESIGN
It’s never too late to pursue your creative side. I’m specially experienced in teaching adult students who are embarking on a creative journey for the first time, or who are looking toward fashion, design or illustration for a career change. Some course I teach include:
Fashion Illustration
Watercolor Techniques
Textile Pattern Design
Creative Process and Creative Identity Development
Fashion Portfolio/Presentation Techniques
FOR KIDS: SCHOOL VISITS AND WORKSHOPS
I love sharing the magic of creativity with both young readers and the young at heart. Lively presentations introduce young students to my process of telling a story through pictures, and creating very special characters. Visits include a history of my unusual journey to becoming a professional artist, as well as interactive activities to immerse children into illustration and storytelling.
